![]() All the other engines are only available in conjunction with the 8-speed automatic. ![]() The base model Wrangler comes standard with the popular FCA Pentastar 3.6L V6 engine making 285 horsepower and 260 lb-feet of torque mated to either a manual 6-speed transmission or 8-speed automatic. 2-door versions come in Sport, Willys Sport, Sport S, Willys, and Rubicon spec, while the 4-doors add Sport Altitude, Sahara and Altitude, Sport RHD, High Tide, High Altitude trim levels between Sport and Rubicon 392. A base price of $27,895, or $45,700 as-tested, puts the Wrangler Unlimited Chief against the Land Rover Discovery, Chevy Tahoe, and Toyota 4Runner.The Wrangler is available in both 2 and 4-door models. Expect FCA to bring Wrangler fully into the current decade without losing anything that’s made it Chief for over 70 years. The interior works well, but is a decade old with a tiny touchscreen and inexpensive knobs and buttons. It’s time for a redesign and the Wrangler will get one in about a year. If none of that comforts you, there are other domesticated Jeeps to soothe your urban soul. No matter your persuasion crushing potholes, stomping through a foot of snow, and maneuvering tightly breed happy thoughts. Wrangler Unlimited keeps diehards happy while taking the rough edges off for the second group as the longer wheelbase and four doors make it livable. There are two types of Jeep people: Those who love all of that capability (and don’t mind the bouncy ride) and those who like the idea of owning a Jeep for about five minutes, then trade them off. But, a tight turning radius that’s ideal for off-roading enables the Wrangler to maneuver into tight parking spots like a far smaller car. You don’t so much steer as encourage it in the right direction. All of that means the Wrangler can crawl over boulders and climb like a mountain goat, but it drives like a big heavy fully-framed truck. Supporting the powertrain for serious off-roading is a heavy duty rear axle, sold front axle, locking rear differential, low gear, and electronic roll mitigation. Fuel economy is horrendous for what’s aerodynamically a brick: 16/20-MPG city/highway. Get the automatic if most of your driving is on paved streets. You can get Wrangler Unlimited with a six-speed manual, but that’s a bit agrarian. of torque to the four-wheel-drive system through a five-speed automatic transmission. ![]() Moving this mass of style and off-road accomplishment is a 3.6-liter V6 delivering 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. Remove the doors, buckle in, and enjoy the day. There’s a convertible canvas roof beneath should it rain. Want sunshine? Click off the hard panels over the front seats or remove the solid roof completely. Remote start gets it going no matter the weather. Cranked Alpine audio, navigation, and tilt steering column add summer tunes and convenience. A white top, step bars, and 17-inch wheels complete the concept car illusions – as do LED headlamps, bull nostril Rubicon-style hood, and big round bumper foglamps.Ĭlimb over the useless step bar for access to a very comfortable interior with heated black leather seats, automatic climate control, and leather-wrapped steering wheel. Around back, is another bit of nostalgia where “4-Wheel Drive” is written in classic script on the tailgate. I think the blue is cool, but beige rides a bit more under the radar. You can get the Wrangler Unlimited Chief in the concept’s light blue, but ours arrived in light beige with white stripes and chrome “CHIEF” lettering down the side. Sensing there might be an opportunity for yet another special-edition Wrangler Unlimited, Jeep launched the Chief with much of the Cherokee’s and concept’s colored accoutrement. But, look under the skin and inside the cabin of the baby blue SUV with white striping, and you realize it is just a re-bodied Wrangler Unlimited. The Jeep Cherokee Chief, with its distinguished white roof and body stripes, was memorable enough that it was reimagined as a concept car a few years ago.

![]() It does seem a bit powerful at 7 toughness and hexproof for 2 mana. It can lead to some powerful combat step shenanigans and blowouts on both sides. Second place: Elemental Barrier by Another in a line of "land-becomes-creature" enchantments, the thing that makes this card unique to me is that when it’s not a creature when it’s tapped (nor does it have hexproof). The artwork is quite disappointing compared to how interesting the rest of the card is. I do appreciate that this can be played on an opponent’s land as pseudo land destruction. If it was “add BB to your mana pool” or “add two mana of any color this land could produce” then I feel that it would better match the nature of black. Third place: Gateway to the Abyss by It’s a build-your-own Dark Ritual! My problem with this card is that it provides some critical mana fixing for a low cost. The flavor seems to fit well, ascribing -1/-1 counters as part of the effect. ![]() Grotesque Moonlight by I think that this card is too powerful for its cost. Neat idea, great art, but pretty far out of the color pie. The result is an unflinching, captivating examination of the human need for love and escape - and the virtual impossibility of finding anything. Essential viewing, as long as you aren't completely averse to scenes of people shooting up. This startlingly candid documentary follows these two drug-addicted couples as they eke out a bare-bones existence on the streets of New York, desperately trying to score cash to pay for their next fix. As a result, the film seems incomplete, but that may have been the point. Unlike most documentaries of this kind, there's no coda providing us with an update about their progress (can Matt and Tracy really keep that Brooklyn apartment? Will Michelle go back to Bellevue for more detox? And can Sebastian become any more pathetic?). We love these short but adorable old-fashioned boy names with either one. You'll be pulled into their stories and will wish the film went on for twice as long. Sebastian: America Ferrera and Ryan Piers Williams Leo (Leodis): Keke Palmer. Meanwhile widow Michelle (whose hubby died of an OD) earns her daily bread by posing as an NYPD vice cop willing to cut her would-be Johns a deal to avoid prison time, and sad sack companion Sebastian lives off the proceeds. They're also each very different: Matt is a working class boy who clearly revels in his naughtiness, whilst prep school dropout Tracy supports the couple with Western Union money from her moneybags father, who makes a surprisingly sympathetic cameo towards the end of the film. They're in turns petulant, charming, repulsive, astonishingly stupid, and dedicated: to the drugs and to each other. ![]() Tracy and Matt, Michelle and Sebastian: these are the two couples whose lives of addiction, crime, and squalor are brilliantly captured in this raw and honest HBO documentary.
