It does seem a bit powerful at 7 toughness and hexproof for 2 mana. It can lead to some powerful combat step shenanigans and blowouts on both sides. Second place: Elemental Barrier by Another in a line of "land-becomes-creature" enchantments, the thing that makes this card unique to me is that when it’s not a creature when it’s tapped (nor does it have hexproof). The artwork is quite disappointing compared to how interesting the rest of the card is. I do appreciate that this can be played on an opponent’s land as pseudo land destruction. If it was “add BB to your mana pool” or “add two mana of any color this land could produce” then I feel that it would better match the nature of black. Third place: Gateway to the Abyss by It’s a build-your-own Dark Ritual! My problem with this card is that it provides some critical mana fixing for a low cost. The flavor seems to fit well, ascribing -1/-1 counters as part of the effect. Grotesque Moonlight by I think that this card is too powerful for its cost. Neat idea, great art, but pretty far out of the color pie. Most everyone on the site is helpful to some degree Without further ado, here are the the entries that stood out most to me in terms of creativity and functionality: Honorable Mentions: Terraquake by I think you fell into the trap of matching the card colors to the artwork rather than the mechanics. Don’t view any of my decisions as personal or vindictive! In fact, if you want feedback beyond what is provided here don’t hesitate to ask. All of your entires had merit and you should each continue to build and enter contests. As always, adjudication is highly subjective.
